Every one of us wants to love and be loved in return. However, there are times that we oftentimes forget to love and give attention to ourselves. You have to bear in mind that even though the love we have for a certain person or people is just so overwhelming, don’t ever forget to love yourself as well.

First off, loving yourself would also mean you have to take care of yourself. You have to make sure that you’re always in good shape by watching what you eat and the likes. You have to ensure that what you ingest or do would do no harm to your body.

Love yourself by following the desires of your heart. Yes, doing what you love to do will surely give you true happiness in life. Don’t let other people to stop you from doing the things you love to do. Don’t be discouraged with the negative things you hear. As long as you believe that you’re not doing anything wrong and you’re on the right track, and then go ahead, follow the desires of your heart.

Moreover, love yourself by enjoying life. Like I said, as long as you’re on the right path and you’re with the great people or you’re with the wonderful friends of yours or with your special someone, then, you have to explore and enjoy life together with these awesome people. And enjoy what this world has to offer.

Furthermore, you need to love yourself even more even though you failed a lot of times already. At times, most of us have tendencies to be discouraged with ourselves, once we haven’t met the expectations we have for ourselves. Instead of having those disappointments, you need to always remember that everything happens for a reason and there’s still a brighter future ahead of you. Don’t dwell on the negative things that happened to you in the past and in present time but be more appreciative on the accomplishments you have, whether it’s big or small. Don’t focus on the negativities and always look at the brighter side of life.

Love yourself by accepting your strengths and weaknesses. Basically, learn to be happy and contented with yourself, despite the imperfections you have. By accepting yourself for who you really are, others would accept the real you as well. In addition, once you have so much respect for yourself, other people would also notice that, and it has truly a huge impact on how they would treat you.

To sum it all up, you can’t be able to give genuine love to others if you don’t know how to love and give importance to yourself. So, if you want to receive love from others, you need to love yourself first.

Meteor Garden was first aired here in the Philippines way back in 2003. The show starred Jerry Yan as Dao Ming Si, Vic Zhou as Hua Ze Lei, Ken Zhou as Xi Men., Vaness Wu as Mei Zuo, and Barbie Xu herself, as Shan Cai. This Taiwanese telenovela took Philippines by storm when it was shown in Abs-Cbn in 2003. And if I’m not mistaken, it was the second Asianovela that was shown here in the country next to Amazing Twins. Since it was a different story, and the fact that it came from Asia, a lot of Filipinos were actually became curious of what this show had to offer especially to the younger generation. And not to mention, people of all ages got hooked to it. It was really a phenomenon and so far, this is the most favorite and most loved Asianovela of most Filipinos. As a matter of fact, one of its episodes got a 63.8 % ratings and it was listed as one of the TV shows that got the highest ratings of all time on Philippine Television.

Furthermore, a lot of teenagers during that time, including myself just couldn’t get enough of the characters of the Asianovela, most especially the main characters, Shan Cai and Dao Ming Si since you can’t help but to fall in love with these two main characters. I remember back then, since at times, I couldn’t watch some of its episodes for the reason that I’m too busy with school, I didn’t want to go out every Sunday mornings for the reason that I didn’t want to miss out  the replays of  Meteor Garden during the weekends. I got glued and fixated on the boob tube during those times since I’m waiting for trivias about them. I was so surprised that Barbie Xu if my memory serves me right was already 24 when she shot the said Asianovela, since she looked so young in the said show.

I can’t deny the fact that there were exaggerated or unrealistic scenes in the show, nevertheless, I still love Meteor Garden.

In Addition, due to their popularity, Barbie Xu along with her sister Dee Xu and F4, namely Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Zhou , and Vaness Wu were invited to perform here in the Philippines at that time. Moreover, F4’s hairstyles, Shan Cai’s long, straight and shiny black hairstyle and even the way she dressed up instantly became a trend here in the Philippines. They really had such a huge impact on Filipino viewers.

Hence, Meteor Garden was such a huge success not just in the country but in different Asian countries as well. I don’t know if there are still Asianovelas in the future that will conquer our TV screens once more and be as successful as this show. And will be supported by Filipino viewers as well, just the way they had supported Meteor Garden back then.
